Hurricane Ida Emergency Response

Here at Furniture Sharehouse, our hearts go out to the thousands of Westchester residents who suffered damage to their homes and lost their belongings to Hurricane Ida. The scope of the devastation is numbing.

As the only organization in Westchester that takes your furniture donation and gives it free of charge DIRECTLY to those who need it, Furniture Sharehouse is uniquely suited at this time to help our neighbors who have suffered catastrophic losses.  We are on the ground right now working with our Member Agencies, municipal officials, — in addition to all the individual families.

The situation  is heart-breaking and overwhelming and we need your help to furnish hope to all those who need it most right now.

RELIEF PLANS

  • Increasing furniture collection efforts
  • Seeking additional storage opportunities
  • Working with Member Agencies to create procedures to get furniture quickly and efficiently to families once they are ready to receive it
  • Brainstorming ways to keep up with the unprecedented need right in our own backyard

We will keep you informed of additional plans we are making to collect and distribute furniture as well as specific needs as we identify them.

It will be a very long road to recovery. But, the outpouring of neighbor-to-neighbor help that we are seeing on the streets and the incredible efforts of local organizations gearing up in record time to bring needed supplies and help to devastated families in awe-inspiring. We are proud to be part of the recovery efforts.
