Donation Guidelines

Your items should be in good repair

  • Upholstered items should be free of any rips, stains, or excessive fading.
  • Wood items should not have excessive watermarks/discoloration, chipped edges, missing hardware/parts etc.
  • Items should be clean, and free of mildew, mold or pet hair.
  • Items must be pest-free.
  • Please pay close attention to our size restrictions: we cannot accept oversized/bulky items because our clients’ apartments are small and the hallways/staircases are narrow.

Items we can accept:

  • Dressers (max length  60″, max height 5′)
  • Twin, Queen and Full-size Mattresses and Box Spring in clean, very good condition.
  • Bunk Beds
  • Kitchen/Dining Tables (Max length 60″ for rectangular and 48″ diameter for round; legs must be remove-able; no glass -topped tables)
  • Kitchen/Dining Chairs
  • Sofas  / Couches (max length 78″) (no sleeper sofas)  (no reclining) – Our driver is authorized to refuse to take your sofa if it exceeds 78″. We apologize but we can’t give away oversized sofas as our clients’ apartments are too small to accommodate them.
  • Futons (max length 78″, must have cushion)
  • Sectionals – SMALL-SCALE sectionals only – please submit a photo to determine if your sectional sofa qualifies for donation.
  • Occasional tables (max size  3′ by 3′)
  • Coffee Tables (max size 3′ by 3′, no glass or marble tops)
  • Recliners:  (non-motorized only)
  • Upholstered Living Room Chairs
  • Bookcases (no taller than 4′)
  • TV Stands (no larger than 4′ long x 4′ high)
  • Small electric appliances (in working order)
  • Clean, vacuumed area rugs (max size  8′ x 8′)
  • Lamps
  • Televisions –   Flat Screens only (max size  60″)

Items we don’t accept:

  • BED HEAD/FOOTBOARDS (sorry, we are overloaded with them)
  • Sleeper sofas
  • King-sized beds
  • Platform Beds
  • Loft Bed Systems
  • Day Beds
  • Waterbeds
  • Captain’s Beds
  • Trundle Beds
  • Hospital or electric beds
  • Cabinets
  • Buffet Servers
  • Bars
  • Large Entertainment Units / Armoires over 5′ tall and wide
  • Glass-topped dining room tables
  • Mirrors (sorry we are overloaded with them)
  • Footstools and Barstools
  • Ottomans (sorry, we are overloaded with them!)
  • Exercise Equipment
  • Desks
  • Wicker Furniture
  • Outdoor Furniture
  • Pianos
  • Artwork
  • Cribs, car seats, strollers or other baby equipment
  • Miscellaneous or Mismatched Kitchen/Household items
  • Kitchen Cabinets
