The American Red Cross is now an official member agency of Furniture Sharehouse! Furniture Sharehouse can now provide furniture assistance to Red Cross referred clients in Westchester who have been displaced due to disaster and emergencies such as fire and flood. This is a key partnership which helps clients in the last step of their recovery once they have a new place to live.
Recently, Furniture Sharehouse partnered with The American Red Cross to assist over 100 victims of a devastating 5-alarm fire that occurred in Mt. Vernon. The “Cottage Ave./Park Ave. fire” destroyed the apartments and all the belongings of its occupants. In the immediate aftermath of the fire, the Red Cross stepped in to assist the families. ✨But support doesn’t end there. As each of the residents find new housing, Furniture Sharehouse provides necessary furniture and kitchen items to help fill these empty homes for FREE.
One resident shared these photos of her newly furnished home along with this thank you note: “Estoy agradecida por la ayudas que me dio la Furniture Sharehouse y La Cruz Roja. Son muy eficiente desde el día cero hasta el día que conminó su servicio. Yo estoy muy agradecida que Dios le dé vida y salud a todos y a su bellas familias. Bendiciones.”
